Good food does lead to sex. As it should. And in a perfect world, good music does too.

adventures & approach
Hey! We are Monika and Jan. Together with our kids, we travel adventurously around the world to meet new people, discover different cultures, and enjoy new food experiences.
In August 2020, we moved to Copenhagen after visiting and dining here several times before. We bought a Christiania bike and have been exploring this beautiful European capital ever since. We are still so excited about everything happening around us.
In May 2021, on Krystalgade Street, in the former Henrik Vibskov shop, we opened our vibrant and eclectic bakery & eatery called Seks, where everything is produced on-site. It's filled with our memories, souvenirs, flavors, and aromas that we've collected while traveling around the world. This is our latest venture, and Monika jokes that when we opened our first small café in 2012 in the forgotten part of Poznań, a Polish city between Warsaw and Berlin, we had no idea what running a crazy business like this would be like. Now, as seasoned entrepreneurs, we definitely know too much! After more than 10 years, we sometimes think we're probably too old for this - standing behind the counter and washing dishes - but it's likely our second serious addiction. The first, of course, is traveling.
Our spot is known for its beloved pastries, creamy cheesecakes, and unique personal travel cuisine, featuring favorite dishes we've discovered and fallen in love with during our journeys. But we offer even more. We're incredibly proud of our specialty coffee, sourdough-based baking, and, finally, the four food and travel books we've written, filled with recipes, photos, and adventures.
Seks is a place where we passionately share our culinary and other adventures from around the world, using local, as much as possible Danish, organic farm-to-table produce. This reflects our belief that the best path for the future of upcoming generations and the Blue Planet is a commitment to sustainability, cooking with what's available around you, and reducing meat consumption. Seks is open to everyone, uniting people around tables to enjoy comfort food and drinks together. We think that everywhere, all around the world, spending time together around the table is accompanied by understanding. That’s very important for us.
We cooperate with Kasia and Maciej who have been working with us for so many years, Paulina, Wojtek, Iza, Nikola and finally talented Karla, our best Danish language teacher, who lives above Seks and always helps us during the busy weekends. As it was said by a 10 years old girl some day, Monika is the real boss here, and Jan just walks around entertaining the guests.
Our spot is inspired by all those good, hard working people we met in their tiny family restaurants or one‑person kiosks, shacks, carts and on those colourful, low-slung stools, in hawker markets, dai pai dongs and warungs. We hope that you will immerse yourself in our place in Copenhagen and sense the sights, sounds, flavors and aromas of our delicious adventures around the world as if you were there in person.
Please enjoy the ride! Twist and shout and vi ses!
