Good food does lead to sex. As it should.
And in a perfect world, good music does too.

Seks is a mix between a specialty coffee shop, a micro-bakery, and a daily eatery serving all-day breakfast and lunch. Sometimes a colorful amusement park, if you know, you know. It was founded by Polish travelers living in Copenhagen and is run by a team of long-time friends and colleagues.
Seks is open to everyone, bringing people together around tables to enjoy comfort food and drinks. We believe that, everywhere in the world, spending time together at the table fosters understanding and brings peace.
We use specialty coffee roasted by Prolog in Copenhagen & Koppi in Helsinborg, milk, butter and dairy from Naturmælk, Øllingegaard and Søtofte Gårdmejeri, cheese from Thise, eggs from Hegnsholt, seasonal vegetables from Klippingegård, Drys and Dagens, chocolate from Xoco Gourmet and Økoladen, finally flours from Kornby Mølle powered by old sourdough starters, rye and wheat, more than 120 years old one from Alaska.

adventures & approach
Hey! We’re Monika and Jan — two explorers at heart, traveling the world with our kids in search of new faces, fascinating cultures, and unforgettable flavors.
Back in August 2020, we traded suitcases for a new life in Copenhagen — a city we couldn’t stop visiting and eating. We bought a Christiania bike and have been exploring this beautiful European capital ever since and somehow, we’re still just as thrilled by every little thing happening around us.
In May 2021, on Krystalgade Street, in the former Henrik Vibskov shop, we opened our vibrant and eclectic bakery & eatery called Seks, where everything is produced on-site. It’s filled with our memories, souvenirs, flavors, and aromas collected during our travels around the world. This is our latest venture, and Monika often jokes that when we opened our first small café in 2012, we had no idea what running a wild business like this would be like. Now, as seasoned entrepreneurs, we definitely know too much! After more than ten years, we sometimes think we’re probably too old for this — standing behind the counter and washing dishes — but it’s likely our second serious addiction. The first, of course, is traveling.
Our spot in the heart of Copenhagen is known for its beloved pastries, creamy cheesecakes, and unique travel-inspired cuisine — a collection of favourite dishes we’ve discovered and fallen in love with during our journeys. But there’s even more to Seks. We’re incredibly proud of our specialty coffee, our sourdough-based baking, and — last but not least — the four food and travel books we’ve written, each filled with recipes, photos, and stories from our adventures.
At Seks, we live and cook by the values that matter most to us. We use local, mostly Danish, organic, farm-to-table produce, and we believe the best way forward — for our children and for our Blue Planet — is through sustainability, cooking with what’s around us, and and reducing meat consumption.
We work together with Kasia and Maciej, who have been with us for many years; Wojtek, Iza, Nikola, and Konrad; and finally, the talented Karla — our best Danish language teacher — who lives above Seks and always helps us during busy weekends. As a 10-year-old girl once said, Monika is the real boss here, and Jan just walks around entertaining the guests.
We hope that you will immerse yourself in our place in Copenhagen and sense the sights, sounds, flavors and aromas of our delicious adventures around the world as if you were there in person.
Please enjoy the ride! Twist and shout and vi ses!
