we use specialty coffee roasted by Prolog in Copenhagen, milk, butter and dairy from Naturmælk, Øllingegaard and Søtofte Gårdmejeri, hard cheese from Thise, eggs from Dalbakkegaard and Hegnsholt, seasonal vegetables from Klippingegård, Drys and Dagens, chocolate from Xoco Gourmet and Økoladen, finally flours from Kornby Mølle powered by old sourdough starters, rye and wheat, more than 120 years old, one from Alaska

Hej! We are Monika and Jan. Together with our kids we travel around the world to get to know new people around their tables, meet their culture and enjoy new food experiences.

We moved to Copenhagen in August 2020 after being and eating here a couple of times before. We bought a Christiania bike and have been exploring this most beautiful European city of Copenhagen since. We are so excited about everything happening around us.

In May 2021 on Krystalgade Street, in the former Henrik’s Vibskov shop, we opened our new bakery & eatery called Seks, where everything is produced on site. It’s full of our memories, souvenirs, flavors and aromas we’ve been collecting while travelling around the world. This is our next place to enjoy in the world and Monika is laughing that when we were opening our first small cafe in 2012 in the forgotten part of Poznan, Polish city between Warsaw and Berlin, we didn’t have an idea about running the crazy business like this and now seasoned we know definitely too much. We think that today, after more than 10 years we’re probably too old for that, standing behind the counter and washing all of this stuff, but this is probably our second serious addiction. The first is of course travelling. Our spots are famous for it’s much loved pastry, more than creamy cheesecakes and unique authorship travel cuisine showing favourite dishes we’ve enjoyed first hand and fallen in love with during all the journeys. But we serve more. We’re totally proud of specialty coffee, sourdough powered pastry, breads, buns and finally four food & travel books we have written, full of recipes, photos and adventures. We use as much as possible Danish, local, seasonal and organic ingredients. We cooperate with Kasia and Maciej who have been working with us for so many years, Olga, Ola, Paulina, Marianka from Mexico, Chiara from Slovakia and talented Karla, our best Danish language teacher, who always helps us during the busy weekends.

Seks is open to all, bringing people together around tables over food and drinks. 

Our spot is inspired by all those good, hard working people we met in their tiny family restaurants or one‑person kiosks, shacks, carts and on those colourful, low-slung stools, in hawker markets, dai pai dongs and warungs. We hope that you will immerse yourself in our place in Copenhagen and sense the sights, sounds, flavors and aromas of our delicious adventures around the world as if you were there in person.
